| This year's 4th Of July was all about time with Grandma. We had breakfast together. Later on there were games, dinner and fireworks watching at her house. |
We had one last area in Poland to visit and see before driving back to Berlin, taking the train to Frankfurt and then flying home. My dad has distant relatives that have a a farm in Northern Poland. We stayed with them for a few days. While we were there we also took a day and drove up to Malbork Castle and Gdansk.

When our time was over in Sandomierz, we headed off to Warsaw for one night to break up a long upcoming drive. On the way we stopped in a town where our ancestors used to live 500 years ago. One of them even had a "Manor House" that still stands. It has been updated, has changed hands, but the owner let us visit both the inside and outside which was really amazing. From there we drove to Warsaw and were able to explore a bit of the old town.

We had a great time in Sandomierz and didn't want to leave. My dad's ancestors come from Sandomierz. We got to see our coat of arms, have a special "knight tour", visit a school that was started by one of my dad's ancestors over 400 years ago, see paintings of our ancestors, have time with our friends and visit a very old ruined castle.
After our time in Germany, we drove into Poland. Our first stop for one night and a rest after a long drive was Krakow. We visited the old town square, had dinner there and walked through the Cloth Hall. We loved looking at all the shops there. The next morning we visited Kazimierz, the Jewish Quarter of Krakow. We saw a Jewish Synagogue and walked through a Jewish Cemetery.
